You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the diameter of the wheel is 22 inches.
the radius of the wheel is half that = 11 inches.
the circumference of the wheel is equal to 2 * pi * 11 = 22 * pi.
1 mile is 5280 feet * 12 = 63360 inches.
divide that by 22 * pi and you get 63360 / (22 * pi) = 916.7324722 revolutions of the wheel in 1 mile.
that becomes 917 revolutions when rounded to the nearest integer.
that's your solution.

How many revolutions will a car wheel of diameter 22 in. make as the car travels a distance
of one mile? (Round your answer to the nearest whole number.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One mile = 63360 inches.
Each revolution of the car wheel moves the car forward by the circumference, which is
pi%2Ad = 3.14159265%2A22 = 69.1150383 inches.
The number of revolutions needed is  63360%2F69.1150383 = 916.7.
Round it to the nearest integer and get the
ANSWER.  917 revolutions (rounded).
Solved.
In problems,  where the diameter  "d"  of a circle is given,  use the formula
        C = pi%2Ad
for the circumference.
Do not use it in the form  C = 2%2Api%2Ar,  since then you must make
excessive calculation  r = d/2,  demonstrating your interior mental instability.
Follow the general rule :   NO  excessive unnecessary calculations.
Remember that they are a source of potential errors, distract your attention and take away precious time.
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
find the circumference of the car wheel
if diameter d=22in=2r
the circumference is
C=2r%2Api
C=22in%2Api
C=69.12in
a distance of 1 mile is 63360+inches
63360in%2F69.12in=916.67 revolutions
round to the nearest whole number: 917+revolutions
