A path is to be constructed using bricks. The bricks are in 5 stacks of 9 bricks high, 9 wide, and 4 deep. One brick covers 32 sq. in. All but 1 dozen bricks are used. The path is 4 ft. wide. Bricks are in stacks prior to use.
Determine length (feet) of path.
22 * 5 = 110 total bricks.
110 - 12 = 98 used.
32 sq. in. = .222 sq. ft.
Unsure how to solve.

You are not reading the given information about the number of bricks correctly.
The bricks are in 5 stacks; each stack contains 9*9*4 = 324 bricks. 5 stacks each with 324 bricks means 324*5 = 1620 bricks.
Each brick covers 32 square inches; 12 of the bricks are not used. The total area covered by 1608 bricks at 32 square inches each is 1608*32 = 51456 square inches.
The path is 4 feet = 48 inches wide; the length of the path is 51456/48 = 1072.
ANSWER:The length of the path is 1072 feet
Oops!!
1072 inches, or 89 feet 4 inches, or 89 1/3 feet

.
The number of used bricks is 5*9*9*4 - 12 = 1608.
The area covered by all the used bricks is 1608*32 = 51456 square inches.
The length of the path is the area divided by the width, which is 4 ft, or 48 inches.
So, the length of the path is = 1072 inches, or = 89 ft.
ANSWER. The length of the path is 89 ft.
