Clarence withdrew 25% of his saving from the bank on Monday.He spent $720 on a television set,$163 on a radio and the remaining $37 on a clock.He received his salary the fallowing day and deposited 2/5 of it into the bank.As a reasult,the total amount in his bank increased to $4680.Find Clarence's salary?
Amount withdrawn and spent: 720 + 163 + 37 = $920
With $920 being 25% of his savings, and R being the REMAINDER (75% or .75) in the bank after the
withdrawal, we get the following PROPORTION:
                                             .01R = .03(920) ------ Cross-multiplying
REMAINDER in the bank after the withdrawal, or

Now, since after of his salary was deposited, he had $4,680, then of his salary is: $4,680 - 2,760 = $1,920
With $1,920 being of his salary, and S being his salary, we get the following
PROPORTION:
            .4S = 1,920 ------ Cross-multiplying
  Salary, or

FYI: That dude's answer is WRONG, as usual!!
