Just ONE (1) variable is needed to solve this!

Let number of losses be L
Then number of wins = 2L - 36
With number of games played being 162, we get: L + 2L - 36 = 162
                                                        3L = 162 + 36
                                                        3L = 198
                               Number of losses, or

                               Number of wins:

                               It's as SIMPLE as that!
