Question 1190942: One Internet service provider has the following rate schedule for high-speed Internet service:
Monthly service charge $18.00
1st 50 hours of use free
Next 50 hours of use $0.25/hour
Over 100 hours of use $1.00/hour
What is the charge for 20 hours.
Answer by math_tutor2020(3817) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It says "1st 50 hours of use free", so the temptation is to say the answer is "0 dollars".
However, what this "free" means is that they aren't charging extra money on top of the $18 service charge.
In my opinion, it's a bit of deceptive false advertising on the company's part.
Answer: 18 dollars.
