Physicist knows which formula to use


    80 = ,


where "g" is the free fall acceleration  g = 32 ft/s^, t is the time.


From the formula,  t =  =  =  = 2.236 seconds.



The Algebra student writes practically the same equation


    - + 80 = 0.


He solves it this way


     = 80

     = 80/16 = 5

    t =  = 2.236 seconds


and obtains the same ANSWER.
