Question 1164204: Transformation T is defined by T (x, y) = (2, 7) + [2 − x, 7 − y]. An equivalent definition is T (x, y) = (4 − x, 14 − y). Use the first definition to help you explain what kind of transformation T is.

.

Transformation T is the symmetry about the point (2,7).

In other words, every straight RAY, released from the point (2,7) in the plane, changes its direction and becomes

the straight ray, going from the same point (2,7) in the opposite direction.

Sometimes, such a symmetry is called a "central symmetry" to better distinct it from other types of symmetries
about some straight lines ("mirror symmetries").
