x = # of children
361-x = # of adults



Solve using basic algebra -- although the decimals make the calculations a bit messy.

Alternatively -- but it doesn't simplify the solution process, since the numbers aren't "nice"....

361 people all children would make a total of 361(1.50) = 541.50.
632.25-541.50 = 90.75.
The difference of $90.75 is because of the additional $0.75 per adult.
90.75/.75 = 121.
The number of adults was 121; the number of children was 361-121 = 240.
