Six men working at the same rate can weed a farm in 16 days. After working for 4 days, 2 more men were hired. How long did they take to weed the farm?

6 men ----16 days
1 man-----x days
1 man does 1/96 of the job in 1 day
6 men will do 6/96 =1/16 of the job in 1 day
they work for 4 days so they complete 4*1/16 of the job = 1/4 of the job
Balance job = 1-(1/4) = 3/4 of the job
8 men will complete 8*1/96 of the job in 1 day= 1/12 of the job

1/12 of the job in 1 day
3/4 of the job in y days
y = (3/4)/(1/12)
y = Balance job in 9 days
9+4 =13 days
The job will be completed in 13 days instead of 16 days
