Then the number of boxes with clothing is (8-B).


For the total pounds you have this equation


    60*B + 15*(8-B) = 255.


From this equation

    B =  = 3.


ANSWER.  3 boxes of books, and the rest, 8-3 = 5 boxes for clothing.
