Question 1154210: A train moving at 12 m/s accelerates to 36 m/s over a distance of 8.0 km. (A) what is the train's acceleration? (B) how much time does it take the train to reach 36 m/s? (C) what is the average velocity of the train?

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
v=36
u=12
s=8000
v^2-u^2=2as
1152 =2*a*8000
1152/16000= 0.072 m/s^2
a=0.072m/s^2
v=u+at, v=36
36= 12 +0.072 t
24/0.072 = t
time taken = 333.33 s
Average velocity = (u+v)/2
