t = 3%2F4s
t = .75s
After Ray and Sam each spent 1/3 of their money, the 3 boys had $798 left.
1017 - 1%2F3(r+s) = 798
multiply by 3
3(1017) - (r+s) = 3(798)
3051 - r - s = 2394
-r - s = 2394 - 3051
-r - s = -657
multiply by -1
r + s = 657
r = (657-s)

(657-s) + s + .75s = 1017
.75s = 1017 - 657
.75s = 360
