Working together the whole time, the number of days it would have taken to do the job is

But in the beginning only the first team worked for 1 day, completing 1/10 of the job. Since only 9/10 of the job remains, the number of days it takes the two team together to finish the job is

.
One team of workers can complete the job in 10 days -- hence, the rate of work of this team is of the job per day.

The other team of workers can complete the job in 8 days -- hence, the rate of work of the other team is of the job per day.

The combined rate of work of two teams working together is = = of the job per day.

After working first day, the first team completed of the job -- hence, of the job remained to do.

Working at the combined rate of the job per day, the two team need = = 4 days to complete the job.

Thus "N", the number of days under the question is 4: N= 4. ANSWER
