Question 1134092: A new cruise ship line has just launched 3 new​ ships: the Pacific​ Paradise, the Caribbean​ Paradise, and the Mediterranean Paradise. The Caribbean Paradise has 24 more deluxe staterooms than the Pacific Paradise. The Mediterranean Paradise has 37 fewer deluxe staterooms than twice the number of deluxe staterooms on the Pacific Paradise. Find the number of deluxe staterooms for each of the ships if the total number of deluxe staterooms for the three ships is 511.

This problem is very popular in this forum:  it comes again and again at least  3  times per year - every year . . .

All the words come always copied from one version to another with no change - only the input numbers are different.

So,  I placed it as a template solution into the lesson
    - More complicated word problems to solve using a single linear equation

The major lesson is that this problem can be solved  (and must be solved)  using only one unknown and one equation,

and the major task and major step of the solution is to select this unknown and to setup an equation for it . . .
