Question 1128915: A door-to-door salesman gets 12% commission on the selling price for the first 20 kg that he sells. He gets 20% commission on the excess he sells, if he sells more than 20 kg. If he sold 48 kg in a month, at 80$ per kg, calculate his total commission.
Answer by rapture1965(18) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
48 - 20 = 28
28 kg gets 20 percent commission
20 kg gets 12 percent commission
For 80(20) = 1600 at 12 percent commission or 192 dollars.
For 80(28) = 2,240 at 20 percent commission or 448 dollars.
The total commission for the month is 192 + 448 or 640 dollars.
