joanne and bernard had a certain number of stamps each. If joanne gave 90 stamps to bernard, they would have the same number of stamps. If bernard gave 10 stamps to joanne she would have 5 times as many stamps as bernard. How many did joanne have at first.

Bernard had y
x-90=y+90
x+10=5(y-10)
Therefore, x=y+180
so x+10=y+190=5y-50
4y=240
y=60 Bernard
x=y+180=240 Joanne ANSWER
