Question 1108734: Find an explicit formula for the sequence given by: {1, 1/4, 1/9, 1/16, 1/25}
I want to say the formula has something to do with multiplying the position by itself, but I don't know what else or how to make it into a fraction. For instance, 2x2=4, 3x3=9, etc etc.

You are on the right track....

But the "2x2=4", "3x3=9", etc. are the DENOMINATORS of the terms of the sequence.

So the 1st term is
The 2nd term is
The 3rd term is
The 4th term is
...

So what is the expression for the n-th term?
