For every cup he sells he collects 20% of the price of the cup.
For every 10 cups he earns an extra 5% of the cups price.
A cup is sold for $8.if he collects $86.80 how many cups did he sell.
:
Find how much he makes on each cup
.2(8) = $1.60
Find how much he makes on each 10th cup
.05(8) = $.40
let c = no. of cups he sold
:
1.60c + *.40 = $86.80
1.6c + = 86.80
multiply equation by 10
16c + .4c = 868.0
16.4c = 868
c = 868/16.4
c ~ 53 cups (has to be an integer)

53(1.60) = 84.80
.40(5) = 2.00
