2/7 of what he had left after buying the camera is what he spent on the watch, so the $240 he has left at the end is 5/7 of what he had after buying the camera.

He had $336 left after buying the camera, and $240 left after buying the watch, so the cost of the watch was $96.

All together he spent $720 plus $96 = $816.
