.
  x +   y = 360,        (1)     (x = pounds of Kentucky bluegrass)
10x + 14y = 11*360.     (2)     (y = pounds of ryegrass)

From (1), express y = 360 - x, and substitute into equation (2). You will get

10x + 14(360 - x) = 11*360.

Simplify and solve or x:

10x + 14*360 - 14x = 11*360,

-4x = 11*360 - 14*360 = (-3)*360,

x =  = 3*90 = 270.

Answer. 270 pounds Kentucky bluegrass to be mixed with (360-270) = 90 pounds of ryegrass.

Solved.
