Question 1074951: Matthew can cut the grass in 3 hours working by himself. When Matthew cuts the grass with his younger brother Dino, it takes 2 hours. How long would it take Dino to cut the grass if he worked by himself?

If Matthew finishes the job in 3 hours, then he does 1/3rd of the job per hour. Let n be the time it takes Dino to cut the grass by himself. Then:
1/3 + 1/n= 1/2
1/n=1/2-1/3=1/6
So n=6
Then Dino takes 6 hours to cut the grass by himself. ☺☺☺☺
