Question 1056973: Ref. Question 1056592 Follow-up:
A piece of lead is 1 ft. in length and 1 in. square. The specific gravity (relation of weight to that of water) of lead is 11.01. Determine weight of lead piece.
1 * 12 = 12 cu. in.
12 / 1728 = 0.00694 cu. ft. (volume of piece).
0.00694 * 62.4 = 0.433 lbs. (weight of equal volume of water).
0.433 * 11.01 = 4.767 = 4.77 lbs.
I am still not sure.
