14. Find the two numbers.

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20056)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
One number is 4 more than 4 times another.
X is 4 more than 4 times Y.
X = 4 more than 4Y.
X = 4Y and 4 more.
X = 4Y + 4

The sum of the numbers is 14.
The sum of the X and Y = 14.
X + Y = 14.

We have the system of equations:

Solve that system of equations.
