we want to divide 5.75 by 3 = 1.9167 approx 1.92(that's how long you have traveled), then

You will travel 3.83 hours longer

f it takes 5 3/4 hours to get from point A to point B and you have already traveled 1/3 of the way, how much longer will you travel?
I converted 5 3/4 to and improper fraction 23/4
Here is your mistake "multiplied it by the reciprocal of 1/3"
You have already traveled 1/3 therefore you have 2/3 to go, hence
* = = 3 reduces to 3
