A rectangle cannot have 4 sides of different lengths, then it would not be a rectangle.
Perimeter = 2L + 2W = 34
If W is some integer, then L is that integer + 1, so:
If W = n, L = n+1
P= 2(n+1) + 2n = 34
2n + 2 + 2n = 34
4n + 2 = 34
4n = 32
n=8
W = n = 8cm
L = n+1 = 9cm
Rectangle is 8cm x 9cm
To check, plug it back in to perimeter formula:
P = 2L + 2W = 2(9) + 2(8) = 18 + 16 = 34 √ correct
