3y – 7x = –29
7x + 11y = 1
by elimination method
3y - 7x = - 29_____- 7x + 3y = - 29 ------- eq (i)
7x + 11y = 1 ------- eq (ii)
14y = - 28 ------- Adding eqs (ii) & (i)

Substitute - 2 for y in either eq (i) or eq (ii) to determine the value of x
