Question 1030292: For every 75 cars made at a factory, 1/3 are red, 20 are blue, and the rest are green. Seven out of every 10 blue cars have CD players and 40% of the red cars have CD players. No green cars are produced with CD players. If the factory produced 960 cars with CD players, how many green cars were produced?
Answer by jorel555(1290) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
For every 75 cars made, then
1/3 X 75=25 cars are red, or 25/75 of the total
20 are blue, or 20/75 of the total
75-25-20=30 are green, or 30/75 of the total
The factory produced 960 cars with CD player, which represented 70% of the blue cars and 40% of the red cars. Thus:
960=.7 blue cars+.4 red cars
=.7(20/75)+.4(25/75)
960=.32(total cars)
Total number of cars produced is 960/.32=3000 cars
30/75 X 3000= total green cars produced= 1200!!!!!!
