The store has $97, mother has $1,
father has $1, and you have $1.
$97+$1+$1+$1=$100
There is no "missing" dollar.
You currently owe $98, the $97 you gave the store
and the $1 you kept.
$97+$1=$98
Still no "missing" dollar.
