Question 1000192: I would like to know the answer to this word problem please. "Rachel has 100 apples. She split the apples up evenly between 5 people. Now Rachel has 0 apples. How many apples does each of the 5 people have?" Please note that the apples can be cut up into into pieces ex. 1/5th or .2 pieces of an apple. Also I wrote this word problem to try and solve my question 100 minus what 5 times equals 0. Any and all help would be helpful.

The word problem you made up and tried to solve used the concept of repeated subtraction. Not bad, but this is the same as division.
