Question 198329: A life insurance table indicates that a woman who is now A years old can expect to live E years longer. Suppose that A and E are linearly related and that E=50 when A=24 and E=20 when A=60.
a. At what age may a woman except to live 30 years longer?
b. What is the life expectancy of a newborn female child?
c. At what age is the life expectancy zero?

Question 198388: A landscape architect used the entire length of an 80ft rope to lay out a flower bed in the shape of a square. In another area, he used the entire length of the same rope to lay out a second flower bed in the shape of a circle.
Perimeter of square = 80 feet Circumference of circle = 80 feet
How many square feet greater is the area of one of the flower beds than the other? (use 3.14 for pi)
This looks to be from a textbook, but no reference are made on the paper.

Question 199233: Two angles are complementary. The sum of the measure of the first angle and the one-fourth the second angel is 75º. Find the measures of the angles.
I know that two angles have to equal 90º. So do I take 1/4 of 75º = 18.75. 90-18.75 = 71.25. Would the angles be 75º, 18.75º & 71.25º?
