You want to also see the steps to solve that system of equations, but I will avoid doing them. The first thing you want would be to examine the written description and translate what you read in words into the equations. Only that much is done for you here.

Gregory has $6 more than Penny, and Phillip has $13 less than Gregory. How much does each person have if they have $29 altogether?

Let amount Penny has, be P
Then amount Gregory has is: P + 6
Amount Phillip has is: P + 6 - 13, or P - 7
We then get: P + P + 6 + P - 7 = 29
3P - 1 = 29
3P = 30
P, or amount Penny has = , or
Amount Gregory has: 10 + 6, or
Amount Phillip has: 10 - 7, or
