Question 986343: I have a wooden 'tree' which consists of a triangle of 1" wood. The sides are divided by nails into 2" increments for a total side length of 64", top nail to bottom nail, one side. Both sides are the same. The measurement at the bottom nails across the 'tree' (right side to left side) is 29". Is it possible with this information to calculate how long a string of lights it would take to wrap the 'tree' from top nail to bottom? If yes, what equation would I use?

No, you did not provide enough information to do the calculations you need. I would need to know something about the pattern you intend to create with your light string. The diagram below is my conception of a schematic for the top 1/8th of your actual tree. What I need from you is a list of numbers that establishes the pattern. Something like 1,2,3,B2,5 (The B means you went around the back to get to that number).

My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
