Question 981586: A food company distributes its tomatoes soup in two cans of different sizes. For the larger can both the diameter and the height have been increased by 30 percent. By what percentage does the volume of the can increase from the smaller can to the larger can? Round your answer to the nearest percent
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Volume of the original is pi*r^2*h
volume of the second is pi*(1.3)^2*r*(1.3* h); that is 30% increase.
The ratio is pi*(1.34)^2*(1.3 h)/ pi*r^2*h
pi's cancel, r's cancel, and h's cancel
The increase is 1.69*1.3=2.197=2.20 or 220%.
