Question 980882: the base of an isosceles triangle is 3cm less than the length of
the equal sides.if the perimeter of the triangle is 36cm,find the length
of each side
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
hI there,
Make the length of the equal sides
= x apiece
Base = x - 3
Perimeter = 2 equal sides + base
36 = 2(x) + x - 3
36 = 3x - 3
3x = 36 + 3
3x = 39
x = 13 cm
Length of each of equal sides = 13 cm
Base = 10 cm
Hope this helps:-)
