Question 976905: A window is in the shape of a rectangle with a semicircle attatched to one of the shorter sides. The rectangle measures two feet by five feet. What is the area of the window, please show steps;)

The rectangle is simply 10sq ft.
The semicircle has a diameter of 2, so a radius of 1. Area = pi R^2 or here, just pi, 3.14 sq ft.
But we just want the half circle, so 1.57 sq feet
Total 11.57 sq ft.
