Question 956225: Matthew has a grid in the shape of a rectangle. He has squares with an area of 60 square millimeters that fit on the grid.
If the length of the grid is 30 centimeters and the width is 20 centimeters, how many squares can Matthew fit on the grid?

Answer by macston(5194)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
L=length=30cm(10mm/cm)=300mm
W=width=20cm(10mm/cm)=200mm
A=area of grid=200mm*300mm=60000 sq mm
60000sq mm/(60sq mm/square)=1000 squares
ANSWER: 1000 of the squares will fit on the grid
