Question 946630: I am gluing a ribbon around the sides of a picture frame. The frame is 11 inches long and 7 inches wide. How much ribbon do I need?

I am submitting this for my 8 year old daughter. Her guess for the answer is 11x7=77
Not sure if that is the correct answer or not?
Me, being her mother seems to think it would be 11x2=22, 7x2=14...... 22+14= 36 inches of ribbon
I am not sure if I am or correct or she is, but I am hoping to help her get the correct answer

the length of a ribbon around the sides of a picture frame,if the frame is long and wide, will be equal to the perimeter
