Question 941561: A rectangular parking lot has a perimeter of 310 meters. The length is 5 meters more than 4 times the width. What is the length and width?
Answer by srinivas.g(540) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
perimeter = 310 meters
let x be the width of rectangle
length = 4*x+5
Perimeter = 2 (length+width)
310 =2((4x+5)+x)
310 =2(5x+5)
divide with 2 on both sides
width(x)=30 m
length = 4x+5
= 4*30+5
=120+5
=125
Length =125 m
Result: length = 125 m , width = 30 m
