Question 907327: A copper wire when bent in the form of a square encloses a region having area 121 sq.cm. If the same wire is bent in the form of a circle, what is the area of the region enclosed by the wire ?
Answer by JulietG(1812) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If it's a square, then each side is 11cm (the sq rt of 121 is 11).
Therefore, the length of the wire is 44cm.
That becomes your circumference.
The circumference = 2 pi r (or pi d)
44 = 2 pi r
22 = pi r
Divide each side by pi to find that the radius is 7
Now you can solve for area
Area = pi r squared
area = 49 pi
