Question 904286: 1.) Find the equation of the locus of a point moving such that its distance from the point A(3,-4) is equal to its distance from the y-axis.
2.) Verify, by any analytic method, whether the points (-1,-1),(3,2),(6,-2), and (2,-5) are vertices of a square.
3.) A triangle has vertices at A(4,-5), B(-2,3), and C(-1,7). Find the acute angle formed between the median and altitude of both drawn to side BC.

PLSSSS... HELP ME TO ANSWER THIS! I REALLY NEED IT FOR MY FINAL EXAM. YOUR HELP IS VERY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU!

1.) That describes a parabola. The y-axis is the directrix and A(3,-4) is the focus. Use the Distance Formula to derive the equation.

2.) Find the distances as a path around the figure and find if each distance between neighboring points around the path is the same; and also test slopes between two pair of points. If two intersecting lines are perpendicular and if all the sides are equal, then the figure is a square.
