Let x = length
therefore, width = 78/x
x - 3 =
Multiply both sides by x
(x - 13)(x + 6) = 0
x = 13 [disregard the negative root]
The length is 13 cm and the width is 6 cm.

x-3=y+4

length of original rectangle=13 cm
width of original rectangle=6 cm
