A stone is projected vertically upward from a platform that is 20 ft high at a rate of 160 ft per second. When will the stone reach its maximum height? What will be the maximum height?
----------------
s(t) = -16t^2+160t+20
maximum occurs at t=-b/2a or t=-160/-32 = 5 seconds
-----------------------
Height at that time is s(5) = -16(5^2)+160*5+20
Height after 5 seconds = 420 ft
