Its perimeter=4x
x-4=length of side of new square
Its perimeter=4(x-4)
..
4(x-4)=4x/2+10
lcd:2
8(x-4)=4x+20
8x-32=4x+20
4x=52
x=13
length of side of original square=13 inches
