Question 87900: The measure of an angle is 3/4 the measure of its complement. Find the measure of the angle and its compliment.
Answer by rapaljer(4671)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x = the complement
3/4 x = the angle

The sum of the angles equals 90 degrees.
x + 3/4 x = 90
4/4x + 3/4 x = 90
7/4 x = 90

To "undo" multiplication by 7/4, multiply both sides by the reciprocal of 7/4, which is 4/7.

degrees = the complement of the angle. This just got UGLY!
= the angle. This is REALLY ugly!!

Does it check??? Add the angles together degrees!
It checks!!
