Question 837603: suppose the base and height of a triangle sum to 20, and the are of the triangle is 42 square cm. What are the dimensions of the triangle?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
b+h=20
1/2 * bh =42
bh= 2*42
bh= 84
b= 84/5
plug b in first equation
b+h=20
84/5 +h = 20
h= 20-84/5
h=16/5
bh= 84
b= 84/(16/5)
b= 105/4
