On this problem I came up with W=2 but I didn't really understand what to do get the answer. If you could help me with that please that would be great. I would appreciate an explanation as well because I didn't understand when my teacher was explaining. Here is the problem:
W, R, and S are points on a number line, and W is the midpoint of RS. For each pair of coordinates given, find the coordinate of the third point.
R= 4, S= -6

Since W is the midpoint of line segment RS (SR) and we know that R=4 and S=-6, we need to first find out the length of line segment RS
|-6|+4=6+4=10

the midpoint of 10=5 SO, start from R, 4 and subtract 5:
4-5=-1

W=-1
