The gardener is going to cover the path with sand. If one bag of sand can cover 6yds squared, how many bags of sand does the gardener need? Note the sand comes only by the bag, so the number if bags must be a whole number.

A ring shaped path goes around the garden.
The width of the path is 5 yds.
The gardener is going to cover the path with sand.
If one bag of sand can cover 6yds squared, how many bags of sand does the gardener need?
Note the sand comes only by the bag, so the number if bags must be a whole number.

A + = 706.86 sq/yds
The path adds 5 yds to the radius (20 yds) find the overall area
A = = 1256.64 sq/yds is the overall area
Path area = overall area - garden area
A = 1256.64 - 706.86
