Question 805386: If an object is projected vertically upward from ground level with an initial velocity of 280 ft/sec, then its distance s above the ground after t seconds is given by
s = −10t2 + 280t.
For what values of t will the object be more than 1710 feet above the ground?
Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Why are you using s for distance . D makes much more sense.
d = −10t2 + 280t
1710 < −10t2 + 280t
(t-19) (t-9)> 0
9
any time greater than 9 seconds and less than 19 seconds
