a small square is constructed. Then increasing each side by 2 meters makes a new square. The perimeter of the new square is 3 meters shorter than five times the length of one side of the original square. Fine the dimensions of the original square.

let side length =x
then perimeter = 4x
side increased by 2
side = (x+2)
New perimeter = 4(x+2)
4(x+2)=5x-3
4x+8=5x-3
5x-4x=11
x=11
side = 11 m
