USING THE PATHAGORIAN FORMULA A^2+B^2=C^2. WE GET:
9^2+X*2=18^2
81+X^2=324
X^2=324-81
X^2=243
X=15.588 FEET IS THE DISTANCE UP THE WALL THE LADDER REACHES.
